Guidelines for authors

The journal publishes:

  • feature/theoretical articles (should not exceed 6,000 words – including references, figures and tables)
  • research articles (should not exceed 7,000 words – including references, figures and tables)
  • practice reality articles (should not exceed 5,000 words – including references, figures and tables)
  • annotated bibliographies and reviews (should not exceed 2,000 words )
  • viewpoint articles (should not exceed 3,000 words and have no more than 10 references)
  • letters to editor (should not exceed 500 words)
  • abstracts for doctoral thesis (awarded to New Zealand Occupational Therapists – should not exceed 500 words and there should be no references).

Editorial correspondence

Preferred method for sending papers for publication is via email to the office or directly to the editor.
