We require a motivated and dynamic Occupational Therapist to join our Allied Health team at Auckland City Hospital. Auckland DHB aspires to provide the highest standards of patient care and staff engagement which is underpinned by our organisational values of Haere Mai (welcome), Manaaki (respect), Tῡhono (together) and Angamua (aim high).

This position offers a variety of settings within the Acute and Rehabilitation Wards working with a diverse group of patients. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work in a variety of settings depending on experience and career aspirations. Some of our specialities include acute medicine, surgical, orthopaedic, and neurological services.

We are seeking applications from a New Zealand Registered Occupational Therapist for a:

  • Full-time permanent position in Auckland City Hospital
  • Working within a dynamic, supportive and inter professional team and
  • Offering supervision and professional development opportunities

To be successful in this position you will need the following skills and experience: 

  • An interest for working with the older patients
  • At least 18 months post qualification experience in an acute hospital setting
  • Interest in supervising students and therapy assistants
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an inter professional therapy team
  • Sound clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Prioritisation skills and experience with complex discharge planning
  • Experience in acute and rehabilitation of patients.
