About our team

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a regional service for children and youth with serious mental health disorders up to aged 18 years.

Our disciplinary team is made up of Psychiatrists, Mental Health Nurses, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers, all trained in a range of treatment modalities.

About the role

We have two permanent, full-time positions available for Occupational Therapists, Social Workers or Registered Nurses with experience in CAMHS, or another mental health setting, for this permanent, full-time position based at Wairau Hospital in Blenheim.

An important aspect to this role is inter-agency work including working with community services such as Oranga Tamariki, schools, GPs and local Maori networks.

About you

You will need to be a registered Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Nurse experienced in working with young people and you will be up to date with current research findings relating to major mental health issues and trends in child and adolescent mental health service delivery.

You will also have a background in delivering comprehensive assessments and evidence-based interventions for children and youth.

You will be the type of person who fits into a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines and will engender confidence, trust and rapport with clients, their support networks and other agencies and service providers.
