About the role
In this Clinical Lead role, will provide both clinical and operational leadership to the occupational therapy, therapy assistant and equipment pool teams within the Allied Health (Adults) service. You will work closely with the Practise Supervisors and your teams will cover all Adult inpatient services at Auckland City Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who wants to develop their operational and leadership skills whilst maintaining close links to clinical practice.

You will work closely with the Practice Supervisors and your teams will cover all adult inpatient services across Auckland City Hospital. Reporting to the Service Clinical Director, Allied Health Services, this is a highly collaborative role well supported by the Director, other Clinical Leads, and professionally, by the Professional Leader Occupational Therapy. You will be a valued member of the Allied Health Leadership Team and encouraged and supported to develop your potential, including your leadership and management skills.

About you

This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who wants to develop their operational and leadership skills whilst also maintaining strong clinical practice. The ability to bring together, balance and deliver the combined demands of quality, operations and business management through outstanding leadership and delegation is essential. As the ideal candidate for the role, you will also have the following attributes:

  • Experience in a leadership role within Occupational Therapy in hospital setting
  • Be registered with the Occupational Therapy board of New Zealand and have a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • A commitment to achieving excellent clinical and business outcomes based on quality service delivery and outstanding and empathetic patient care
  • A comprehensive knowledge of evidence based practise in Occupational Therapy
  • A comprehensive understanding of the obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and a commitment to supporting equitable outcomes for Māori.
  • The ability to live and lead the Auckland DHB values of Haere Mai, Manaaki,Tuhono and Angamua.
