Day Group Coordinator – Harbour Hospice
0.6 FTE – (3 days per week)

Harbour Hospice is the only specialist, palliative care provider for families living in the Hibiscus Coast, North Shore and Warkworth / Wellsford communities. We provide compassionate, free care working primarily with patients, families and carers in their homes, and also within our three hospice sites. Our bespoke services include medical care, spiritual support, physiotherapy, social activities and more, with an emphasis on helping people live every moment in whatever way is important to them.

About the Role

The Day Group Coordinator is responsible for the development and facilitation of the day programmes across the three sites within Harbour Hospice. This will be achieved by identifying the needs of the communities and developing programmes to meet these requirements.

The role will facilitate day groups from engaging guest speakers, developing programmes and activities to support our patients and their families and working closely with the Community Volunteer Coordinators. This role is a key link between our patients, their engagement with Hospice and ability to access our services

About You
You will have a background in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or other relevant healthcare field, along with, a good understanding of holistic care and how to utilise this in a palliative care setting to get the best outcomes for patients.  You will have experience facilitating or leading groups and enjoy creating a sense of community, affinity and support.

You will also have:

  • Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity in dealing with people from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities
  • Ability to build relationships across multiple sites
  • Strong facilitation skills
