You can make a difference here at the South Canterbury DHB. You will have time to invest in your clients and team and enjoy an established structure which contributes to achieving the best outcomes.

We have a post available in our small multidisciplinary team who use the “Strengths Recovery Model” approach to assist clients in reaching their goals.

The role works with inpatient clients identified with moderate to severe psychiatric disorders who are in the acute stage and who need a period of close observation &/or intensive intervention where this is unable to be safely provided in the community. Input into comprehensive clinical assessments and assisting in development/delivery of recovery/treatment plans is of course required.

You will be providing effective Occupational Therapy to patients within our Inpatient Unit, incorporating all aspects of an individual’s occupational functioning.

You must therefore be a NZ Registered Occupational Therapist who enjoys working with more acute mental health clients with a proven history of clinical success behind you.
