JOB DESCRIPTION

Occupational Therapist
Acorn Autism

About Acorn Autism

At Acorn Autism we are passionate about delivering the best specialist services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our commitment to our clients is at the core of who we are and why we do what we do.

We have a growing team that includes expertise in occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, behaviour therapy and dietetics – all working together under one roof.

We’re on an exciting journey and we’re looking for a full or part-time Occupational Therapist to join us as a permanent member of our team.

About the role

You’ll be one of our occupational therapy experts focused on the assessment of clients needs along with the development and implementation of their therapy programmes.

You’ll work one-on-one with clients and their families and alongside the collaborative team of specialists.

Our team includes therapy technicians who you will support in the implementation of the therapy programmes. You’ll have the opportunity to take your expertise and help build the capabilities of both our technicians and client’s families to really maximise the impact of the therapy.

There is flexibility around the days and hours of work for the right person.

About you

We’d be interested to talk to you if:

You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or the equivalent.
You have 1+ years experience in paediatric Occupational Therapy.
You have strong interpersonal and communication skills and can demonstrate how you apply these in working with children.
You are able to take your specialist knowledge and translate it in a way that our clients and their families can understand and confidently use as part of the therapy.
You are able to collaborate with other specialists in the team who use “Applied Behavioural Analysis”.
You have experience of working with children who have additional needs.
You are able to convey the evidence behind your therapy recommendations.
You are empathetic, a team player and passionate about your continued professional development.

If this sounds like you, send a cover letter along with your CV to Sarah Meakin at [email protected].

Please note a current full drivers licence along with clearance from a criminal record check will be required.
