Are you a dynamic Therapist who already has a good experience base who wants to increase their skills working in the field of medical fitness to drive and vehicle modification scripting?
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Therapist to join our highly skilled interdisciplinary team. This role is fast paced and you won’t find yourself working in a clinic assessing repetitively. You will be travelling in the community, assessing people with all types of disabilities and injuries and you will learn more than you ever have before about driver rehabilitation.
Laura Fergusson Trust is an independent, charitable organisation that specialises in assessing, rehabilitating and supporting those impacted by brain, spinal and other injuries in the South Island of New Zealand. Our purpose is to assist clients in achieving independence, inclusion and quality of life. We provide a full continuum of integrated assessment, rehabilitation and support services for people with brain and other injuries, carried out by our highly skilled interdisciplinary team when and where they are needed.
About the Role
The opportunity to become a rehab specialist in driving and enhance your knowledge and skills in driving assessment and vehicle modifications.
To meet a range of rehabilitation requirements for clients with multiple impairments.

Preferably you are a Driver Trained Occupational Therapist (although this is not vital – we will provide all the training you will need).
You must have a willingness to learn and grow, and if not already, a desire become a standout performer in the area of driver rehabilitation and assessment.
We are looking for passionate people with a can-do attitude.
You want the opportunity to be more than just an assessor, and really want to become advanced in driver rehab and be a part of something positive for our clients.
You will have:
- Confident in working in a fast paced environment alongside other members of the team
- Experience of ACC contracts would be preferable but not essential
- Willing to work within our values
- A valid and clean driver’s licence
