Recognition of the demand within acute care has enabled the creation of a new position within the medical patient pathway. Focused on improving the patient journey – we are excited to be able to extend the trans-disciplinary working model within our Allied Health disciplines.

Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)

We are looking for a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist who has a genuine passion for working alongside patients in the acute medical setting, to facilitate a smoother health journey. This role will require you to be adaptable to change, resourceful and flexible to service needs.

We are looking for applicants with:

  • a New Zealand registration in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy, with a current practising certificate
  • comprehensive clinical assessment and problem solving skills
  • the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, to develop positive interpersonal relationships, and to work flexibly within the inter-disciplinary team – with a team player attitude
  • excellent communication skills, to liaise with health professionals both within the in-patient services and in the community
  • strong clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice
  • strong prioritisation skills and experience with complex discharge planning.
