Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)

This is a varied role that includes undertaking clinical assessments, group work, education and professional liaison.

You will:

  • be based in the Nikau Hauora Hub; a multi-agency, community resource centre for people with mental health challenges.
  • provide group and individual interventions at the Hub and across the community.
  • link strongly with our inpatient unit, Wahi Oranga, providing clinical input to the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and assisting tangata whaiora to transition to community supports.

In Nelson/Tasman secondary care Adult Mental Health Services are delivered by an established multi-disciplinary team based at Nelson Hospital. This team works in close association with partner services to deliver a comprehensive clinical resource to those affected by mental illness.

This is a permanent full-time position working 80 hours a fortnight.

  • be an enthusiastic and energetic NZ registered Occupational Therapist.
  • have well-developed people skills, and a client-centred approach to practice.
  • bring experience working in a mental health environment, with both groups and individuals.
  • bring confidence, a good sense of humour and great networking skills.
