JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you an experienced occupational therapist? We’d love you to come and join our colorful and energetic Child Development Service

About the role

We are looking for someone who is experienced in working in the area of child disability preferably in a Child Development Service. As well as providing therapy you would be expected to work as part of the developmental assessment team and also to facilitate group intervention. You would joining an innovative and supportive team.

The position is Monday-Friday, 32 hours per week. Part of this role is fixed-term until December 2018 (0.4 FTE) then it will become a 0.4 FTE or 16 hours per week position. However there maybe the opportunity to extend the fixed-term contract.

Our position is based at Child Development Unit at Hutt Hospital but you will be expected to travel to home and community settings across the region.

Skills and experience:

  • experienced in the prescription of equipment
  • hold Enable accreditation
  • experience in housing modifications for children with challenging behavior (desirable)
  • NZ Registered Occupational Therapist with current annual practicing certificate
