About the role
The Child Development Service, based in the Blenheim Health Hub, is looking for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about working with children and being part of multi-disciplinary team. This role requires you to be adaptable to change, resourceful, and flexible to service needs.
The Child Development Service (CDS) team has a strong commitment to child protection and is dedicated to helping children achieve optimum function and well-being. We provide multi-disciplinary therapy for children with disabilities referred to the service, in partnership with their families/caregivers; this role spans community, primary, inpatient, and outpatient settings. It is highly desirable that you have post graduate clinical experience in paediatrics and an interest in wheelchair/ seating and postural management systems for this role.
You will be a NZ Registered Occupational Therapist – ideally with Enable Assessor accreditation and advanced comprehensive clinical assessment and problem solving skills. You will have the experience and ability to work autonomously and collaboratively. You will have excellent communication skills to liaise with health professionals, both within the in-patient services and in the community.
