About the role

Due to a change in staffing a part-time role has become available in our community Occupational Therapy team. The role is 0.5 FTE (40 hours per fortnight). This position is suitable for an experienced OT with ideally at least three years clinical experience.

We are looking for someone who has experience in wheelchairs and seating, home modifications and complex equipment or the ability to build on their skills in these areas with support and training.

Our ideal candidate will have shown sound clinical reasoning, excellent communication and time management skills and the ability to work autonomously in previous roles. You will be experienced at working in partnership to problem solve with clients and their whanau/support people.

You will be supported by an experienced team who are passionate about achieving positive outcomes for clients. In this position you will be part of a wider Occupational Therapy Department where your professional development will be supported with internal and external training opportunities and professional supervision. You will have the opportunity to extend your practice by participating in quality initiatives and training new graduates and students.

Skills and experience:

  • Ideally three years clinical experience
  • New Zealand OT Board registration and current APC
  • Full NZ driver’s licence
  • ENZ accredited assessor for personal care, household management and basic housing modifications
  • Accreditation in complex housing, wheeled mobility and postural management is desirable
