Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)
You will be based in the Nikau Hauora Hub; a multi-agency, community resource centre for people with mental health challenges. You will provide group and individual interventions at the Hub and across the community. There is a strong focus on wellbeing, resilience and recovery.
This role will link regularly with the allied health team based in the community and in our inpatient unit, Wahi Oranga, assisting tangata whaiora to transition to community supports.
This is a permanent full-time position working 80 hours a fortnight. Your hours of work will generally be between 8.00AM and 4:30PM, Monday to Friday. This is a varied role that includes group work, education, clinical assessments, and professional liaison.
In Nelson/Tasman secondary care adult mental health services are delivered by an established multi-disciplinary team based at Nelson hospital. This team works in close association with partner services to deliver a comprehensive clinical resource to those affected by mental illness.

As well as working within the MDT based at Nikau Hauora Hub you will be part of a supportive team of occupational therapists and allied health assistants committed to high quality client centred care. There is a strong focus on recovery and supporting tangata whaiora to access supports in the wider Nelson and Tasman communities. The role will have a focus on physical as well as mental wellbeing.
This is a dedicated occupational therapy role within a team focused on holistic health care and aligned to the principles of Te Whare Tapa Whā.
