We are looking for an occupational therapist with experience or new graduate with energy and vision for our acute Older Adult Mental Health Inpatient Service for both the inpatient ward and the community. Ideally you will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with a passion for mental health and the Older Adult having at least 2 years’ experience, however new graduates will be considered.
This is a full time position with a focus on functional and cognitive assessments, provision of information, strategies and equipment to optimise quality of life, therapeutic interventions in relation to mood disorders, cognitive stimulation, and provision of sensory modulation.
You will be working with a multidisciplinary team which is inclusive of an experienced occupational therapy assistant, and within a mental health service with links to other experienced occupational therapists.
You will practice from an occupation focussed practice model in order to deliver assessments and interventions that promote well-being from a recovery model based on whanau ora principles.
