Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)

The Older Persons’ Mental Health community team provides psychiatric and geriatric care for the older members of our community. We aspire to provide high quality inpatient care to patients with acute mental health needs and/or complex age related health conditions. We work in partnership with our patients, their families, the clinical team and community carers and supports to achieve the best possible health outcome for the patient.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapists to join our dedicated and friendly team, working 80 hours a fortnight, Monday to Friday. This is a varied role including working individually with patients, undertaking assessments, group work/activities, education and support to the wider team. The role is based in Nelson, however includes support for the team based in Wairau.

Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)

This position is ideally suited to OTs who have experience with older people and / or Mental Health, however, a newly graduated OT who has a proven interest in this area will be considered. In either case you will be an enthusiastic and energetic NZ registered Occupational Therapist with well-developed people skills.
