JOB DESCRIPTION

Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist (Professional) – Wheel Chair and Seating

Location: Kenepuru Hospital, Porirua

Contract: Permanent, Part time (28 hours a week*)

(*additional casual hours may be available in other areas of the ORA service)

Salary:  $67,337 – $80,292 pro rata

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Wheeled Mobility Service at Capital and Coast DHB. We are looking for Occupational Therapists or Physiotherapists to join our growing team working across CCDHB. You will be working in a supportive team with two other therapists and will have the opportunity to develop your skills through professional development and regular supervision. The role will be based at Kenepuru Hospital with the post holder working across the whole of the DHB area providing a service in clients home, place of residents or the outpatient setting.

Duties

  • Provide a Wheelchair, seating and positioning service to Ministry of Health and ACC clients
  • Take part in service improvement and development projects.
  • Independent caseload  prioritisation and management

Skills & Experience

  • Registered Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with current APC
  • A minimum of 4 years’ clinical experience 
  • Accreditation or working towards Level 2 in wheelchair mobility and postural management preferred. 
  • Lying accreditation 
  • Excellent communication, team working skills and able to work independently
  • Demonstrate a commitment to a culturally responsive equitable service
