Occupational Therapist – Rural and Community Services 

HAM00523 

Where you’ll be working: Rural and Community Services Occupational Therapy, Hamilton and surrounding areas

The details: Fixed Term to May 2022, 40 hours per week (1 FTE)

An exciting opportunity has become available for an occupational therapist to join the Rural and Community Services Occupational Therapy team at Waikato District Health Board.

About the role:

In this role, you will provide occupational therapy services to clients within their home environment. This position is to support Rural and Community Services Occupational Therapy team where there is a demand for additional support and to cover when there are vacancies. Therefore, your base, where you work from, will vary and will need to drive to that location. (Usually Hamilton or a community services base located a half hour approx. from Hamilton).

 

Required skills & experience:

  • A positive, flexible attitude

  • The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ideally have wheelchair, equipment and home modification skills/knowledge, but training and support will be provided. 

  • Full driver’s licence

  • We provide regular clinical supervision and have a commitment to continuous professional development.
