2 x 0.5FTE positions, fixed-term for 12 months, OR 1 x 1.0FTE position, fixed-term for 12 months

Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)

We have the option of two fixed-term 0.5FTE (40 hrs a fortnight) positions, that could be combined to create a fixed-term, full-time position 1.0FTE (80 hrs a fortnight).  Other combinations may also be considered.

N.B. Please indicate in your covering letter the FTE, or hours per fortnight, that you would prefer.

You will be a NZ registered Occupational Therapist/s with a genuine passion for, and experience of, working with clients in the community. These positions are primarily community based, working alongside allied health colleagues and community agencies, to assist our clients with physical health needs, to live safely and as independently as possible at home.

One of these positions is to back-fill a staff member seconded to work on a new service initiative between primary care and neurology services, and the other is to provide additional support with current service demands.

Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)

You will have at least two years post-qualification experience, comprehensive clinical assessment and problem-solving skills, and with the experience, passion and ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively. You will have excellent communication skills to liaise with health professionals and agencies, and will be adaptable, resourceful, and enjoy working in a flexible environment to meet service needs.

Confidence with managing complex physical health caseloads, and assessing for equipment and housing needs is preferable.   Physical health inpatient experience is also desirable.  If this sounds like you, we welcome your application.
