JOB DESCRIPTION

Multiple Full-Time and Part-Time Occupational Therapy positions available for immediate start with the Department of Health Tasmania

Multiple Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Positions Available for Immediate Start

The Department of Health (DoH) has multiple full-time and part-time Occupational Therapy vacancies across various locations within Tasmanian Public Hospitals, including Burnie, Latrobe, Launceston and Hobart.

Although positions are offered on a per-hospital basis, the recruitment process is a single state-wide recruitment campaign. A single application will allow you to apply for places at all four hospitals.

These positions would suit energetic, and flexible Occupational Therapists who enjoy a diverse case mix, busy work environment and opportunity to contribute to service development.

The Occupational Therapy Department in each region provides inpatient services to all acute and sub-acute wards including emergency medical, surgical, paediatrics and rehabilitation. The Department also provide services to outpatient clinics, district hospitals and community-based programs.  These roles require working with a person-centred approach to promote, develop and provide high quality evidence based occupational therapy services.

Building your career with DoH

Our career opportunities offer progression and ongoing training, alongside like-minded people striving for quality improvement in a rewarding environment.

These positions also offer the opportunity to rotate through all areas learning as you go, supported by preceptors and supervising staff. Alternatively, some positions offer the opportunity to specialise in a specific area of service delivery. Our Occupational Therapists are provided with regular education sessions, access to funding sources for CPD and strong professional and social networks.

Living in the best place on earth

Tasmania offers an enviable lifestyle in one of the world’s most beautiful natural environments. It is the smallest Australian state, with all the services and facilities of a big city in a relaxed and safe community setting. Short commutes with restaurants, beaches, and iconic at-home getaways within close proximity make for the perfect work life balance. Living here you will have the best of everything – career opportunities, an active and healthy Tasmanian way of life, space and a connected community.
