Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist – South West Community Team


  • Two 32hr a week fixed term positions available for approximately 12 months.
  • One as a Physiotherapist and the other as an Occupational therapist.

The Team: What we do

Our South West Community Team within Older Person’s Health and Rehabilitation provides assessment of elderly clients within the community to understand any support services or rehabilitation needs. Our service is forward thinking and our allied health take an holistic approach to assessing the needs of the elderly in the community in conjunction with a complete interdisciplinary team. We work in a restorative model of care – working alongside the client promoting independence and assessing options for minimising risk within client-centred goals. Our work is focused on listening to our clients and helping to support and enable people and advise.

We have two 0.8 FTE fixed term positions for an Occupational Therapist (until November 2022) or Physiotherapist (Until October 2022), Working Monday to Friday with specific hours to be negotiated.

The Role: Where you fit in

In this role, you will be responsible for;

  • Assessment, monitoring and support of clients within the service;
  • Providing appropriate resource and education to clients and their family/whanau;
  • Participating in service development and quality assurance initiatives / processes.

Your skills will include:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and nurture relationships with clients and their family/whanau;
  • The ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team;
  • Relevant experience working in older persons health and/or within a community setting is preferable;
  • Experience in housing modifications and equipment is highly desirable;
  • Clean driver’s licence and the ability to drive both automatic and manual vehicles.
  • NZ Registration with the Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapy Board NZ and current Annual Practicing Certificate is essential.
