Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)

We are seeking an occupational therapist, or physiotherapist with wheelchair and seating experience to work with the Nelson Allied Health Community team and other wheelchair & seating colleagues across the district, including the Child Development Service. There may be the opportunity for the preferred applicant to work extra hours within their discipline across other areas of Nelson Marlborough Health.

This role is based in Nelson, with the expectation that you will work across the district. Your role will be to ensure all interventions provided are in line with contemporary research and evidenced based practice in order to deliver safe, high quality clinical care to our patients. You will work in a range of settings and in partnership with individuals, families, whānau and communities and the multi/interdisciplinary model of care.

Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)

You will ideally have several years of clinical experience, with a minimum of two years working with complex wheelchair and seating systems for adults, children or both. You will hold accreditation for Enable New Zealand Wheeled Mobility and Postural Management (WMPM) Level 2, or have the equivalent experience to be able to qualify for this credentialing. You will have relevant experience in a variety of clinical / disability areas within a hospital or community environment as commensurate to the role.
