JOB DESCRIPTION
Inpatient And Community Rehabilitation, Southern District Health Board, Dunedin
- Permanent, full-time positions 2.0 FTE
Picture this…You’re a NZ registered Occupational Therapist working in a supportive and friendly team environment, committed to quality patient centred care and at the same time having fun. On weekends you have an array of outdoor and recreational pursuits such as skiing, water-sports and tramping, just a short drive from your doorstep!!
Sounds appealing?? Then come and join us!
Join our dynamic and evolving inpatient interdisciplinary team within the services covering under 65’s and Older People’s Health Rehabilitation Services based at Wakari and Dunedin Hospital. You’ll work alongside other senior Occupational Therapists, and wider team members in planning and providing rehabilitation to our patients.
You’ll have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and expertise in rehabilitation with medical, orthopaedic and neurological conditions, including traumatic brain injury and stroke. You will also have the opportunity to support, teach and upskill students and rotational staff.
As a Senior, ideally you will bring to us a minimum of 5 years occupational therapy experience that includes working in a rehabilitation setting with patients with stroke and other neurological conditions. Experience with the frail elderly and orthopaedic conditions is also an advantage. You’ll be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of optimising patient outcomes and facilitating effective discharge planning, using a patient centred and evidence based approach to goal setting and intervention.
In addition to the experience you bring us, you will have enthusiasm and a willingness to commit to our team and patients. You will be expected to be active in service quality initiatives, therefore be proactive, innovative and have a quality driven leadership approach.
For these permanent roles covering the service, you will need to be a New Zealand registered Occupational Therapist with a current annual practising certificate.
Closing date: Sunday, 2 September 2018.
