Rotorua hospital has a full time vacancy on our Mental Health & Addiction In-patient ward. This is an exciting opportunity for a junior occupational therapist, confident new graduate therapist or someone who is considering a change to the field of Mental Health & Addictions. Our dynamic Mental Health Service provides a range of Occupational Therapy services in the Community, complimentary to the Acute Inpatient Setting.

The vacancy is within a multi-disciplinary team, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and teamwork to meet the needs of our client group. Occupational Therapy within the Mental Health Service is focused on maintaining or enhancing the Occupational Performance of clients through assessment, individual intervention, group work, liaison and education.

The role will allow you to complete the Occupational Therapy problem-solving process with a varied caseload within the inpatient environment and the potential for some community follow-up work. In addition to providing direct Occupational Therapy, the Therapist will play a key role in contributing to the promotion and development of the Occupational Therapy service and the profession as a whole.
