Lead a caring and skilled team and provide innovative support to people experiencing mental health and addiction issues.

We are seeking a registered health professional with a high level of energy, emotional intelligence and resourcefulness to lead our team.

As our Team Coach you will have experience working in mental health, including leadership skills. You will be drawing on your expertise from a range of treatment modalities to provide therapeutic interventions in supporting recovery to adults in residential supported accommodation. This can be complex, and you will need to be familiar with manging co-morbid health problems.

You will be working full time, 40 hours per week, in Hamilton.
Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm

As a Team Coach, you will be part of the local leadership team, attend regular meetings and Team Coach trainings. You will also be part of the rostered after-hours service on a rotating basis.

The Team

You’ll be reporting to the Service and Relationship Manager and leading a team of Support Workers at one of our residential supported accommodation services.  This service is a community service supporting people with a lived experience of mental health and addiction. You will provide regular coaching and be focused on inspiring every member of your team to exceed their personal best in everything they do.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in the mental health and addictions sector. They will be competent working as a cohesive team in challenging situations, and be willing to work through a Te Ao Māori lens. This will be a challenging and varied role; the service will be fast paced at times and at other times will require you to bring your initiative.

Our ideal candidate:

  • A registered health professional with a current practising certificate (Occupational Therapist/Nurse/Social Worker)
  • Leadership experience with excellent interpersonal, skills, problem-solving abilities and the ability to challenge, inspire, influence, and coach your team.
  • Ability to work well with other services such as DHBs, PHOs, and the wider community and social sector.
  • Strong commitment to a recovery focused framework
  • Ability to develop and sustain working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Ao Māori
